This IDC study provides a worldwide forecast for managed edge services covering the 2021–2025 period. The managed edge services market is nascent with service providers engaged in many POCs in 2021 for both on-premises and service provider edge deployments. This forecast, however, reflects revenue in 2020, which is mostly dominated by edge applications provided by CDN providers."Managed edge services represent a significant monetization opportunity for service providers to capitalize on their investment in edge compute," says Ghassan Abdo, research VP, Worldwide Telecom, Virtualization, and CDN, IDC.
