This IDC study analyzes the U.S. communication service provider's fixed-line voice and data revenue in the small and medium-sized business (SMB) market."Cable operators continue to leverage their leading broadband speeds and aggressive pricing and bundling to pull customers away from the telco competitors," said Jason Blackwell, research director, Consumer Multiplay and SMB Services at IDC. "The telcos are now ramping up significant capital expenditures to expand their fiber networks and try to regain some of these customers. New entrants bundling fixed wireless internet services with mobile voice and data will further increase competition in the lucrative SMB communications services market."
