Survey of US Higher Education Faculty 2023, Use of Course Reserves

This study gives extensive data on how US higher education faculty use course reserves, particularly through their academic libraries.  The study helps its readers to answer questions such as: which faculty use course reserves?  How much? How satisfied are they with the services academic libraries provide for course reserves? Do they put print materials on course reserve? Digital materials?  How easy is it to use course reserves?  How easy is it to integrate course reserves with course management systems?  What can be done to improve course reserve systems? We asked: how efficient is your academic library at managing course reserves?

We gave 5 answers to this multiple choice question; they were: highly efficient, efficient, somewhat efficient, inefficient and highly inefficient.

A plurality of 40.82% consider their academic library to be efficient in this area while another 22.33% considered their library highly efficient; 15.76% called their libraries somewhat efficient in course reserves management while 1.74% considered them inefficient and 1.86%, highly inefficient. Once again, it was those in specialized universities and colleges who were most likely to be dissatisfied; 35% consider their libraries either only somewhat efficient or inefficient in this area
