This IDC Perspective looks at findings from IDC's 2021 Worldwide Future of Operations Survey. In recent years, remote operations adoption has markedly increased while the number of enabling solutions has concurrently grown. Advances in connectivity, analytical capabilities, and computing technologies (e.g., the cloud) have all contributed to the extensive rise of remote operations."Remotely monitoring and management of operations is no longer a niche activity," said Leif Eriksen, research vice president, Future of Operations at IDC.
