We've raised our 2023 GDP forecast for Kiribati by 1.5ppts to a 2.4% expansion, following just 0.7% growth in 2022 when Covid containment restrictions were in place. The resumption of large infrastructure projects and the return of normal weather conditions should boost investment and agricultural output. Falling commodity and shipping prices will also help to lower inflation for the highly import-dependant island nation.
