IDC PlanScape: Digital Business Resilience

This IDC PlanScape is designed to make the case for digital business resilience and then explain what it is, who needs to be involved, and how CIOs and their business counterparts can begin the journey toward more resilient and successful enterprises. It is intended as a tool for discussions among CIOs, LOB executives, and business leaders to gain consensus on the importance of resilience and what initiatives should be pursued to achieve the levels of resilience that the business needs.“The most vexing challenges to businesses come from the interplay and intensifying effects of disruptive events and forces,” says Mark Strohlein, adjunct research advisor with IDC’s IT Executive Programs (IEP). “Many CIOs found that rapid, pandemic-driven shifts to work-from-home environments stretched their talent, infrastructure, and applications.
