We've slashed our 2023 real GDP growth forecast for Paraguay by 1% to 1.3% due to the worsening global economic environment and weaker domestic demand. Growth of just 0.1% in 2022 was better than our forecast six months ago, mostly owing to resilient private consumption. The government is encouraging investment and trade by offering firms credit and technical support. As a result, we expect growth to gain momentum by Q4, giving way to a 4.2% GDP expansion next year.
