Economic growth came in stronger than expected last year and high-frequency indicators suggest economic momentum remained robust in H1 2023. We have increased our 2023 GDP growth forecast from 4.5% to 4.8%. This follows an upwardly revised 4.9% growth rate in 2022. We expect growth to slow to 3.9% in 2024 as the recovery in tourism peters out, while lingering price pressures will weigh on consumer spending in the context of high poverty levels.
