This surgery has been shown to be safe and effective, and it can often improve vision by several lines on the eye chart. This piece of equipment is used all around the world to cut the cornea flap. A microkeratome comprises an oscillating blade that is intended to create the corneal flap for surgeries allied to refractive errors. This surgical instrument is used in Descemet’s Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK) to cut a reedy layer from the cornea’s back which is then relocated into the inheritor’s cornea.
