In October, the government adopted a corrective budget for 2023 that boosts spending by over DZD1trn – the equivalent of 3.3% of our forecast for GDP for this year. The increased government spending will also translate into stronger consumer demand, as higher wage packets for civil servants are spent in the economy. The same story was apparent in the Q1 2023 GDP numbers that were published in August: total domestic demand was up 5.8% y\/y. Strong demand through the government and consumption channels is the main driver of the improvement in our forecast for GDP growth: in this forecast round, we predict real GDP growth of 2.7% in 2023 and 2.2% in 2024, up from forecasts of 2.5% in 2023 and 2.0% in 2024 in our Q3 forecast.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Heavy Industry","offers":[{"title":"October, 2023 \/ 6 Pages \/ MCW16211375","offer_id":47615552651570,"sku":null,"price":222.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/www.hardmanwell.com\/products\/analysis-by-region-africa-algeria","provider":"HARDMAN AND WELL MANAGEMENT CONSULTANCIES L.L.C","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
